Metamorphosis
Dariana Sârca
October 9, 2026
"The Butterfly," Winslow Homer, 1872. Oil on canvas. Public domain.
I wish I were a cocoon,
Just to know
I can be something more.
I wish I were the first to bloom,
Or the first not to bloom alone.
I wish I were a cloud,
If only
To transform.
Or a withered leaf in the wind,
Being carried by the storm.
