FemiNICHE is an online magazine covering pop culture, criticism, and creative writing. We publish essays, reviews, cultural commentary, fiction, and poetry by women and gender-diverse people. We are currently open for submissions for Summer 2026.
FemiNICHE welcomes submissions from women and gender-diverse people at any stage of their writing journey. First-time contributors are encouraged to pitch.
Longform personal or cultural essays with a strong voice and a clear argument.
800 – 3,000 words
Film, TV, music, books, or anything worth having an opinion about.
400 – 900 words
Hot takes, cultural commentary, and responses to things currently happening. Punchy and opinionated.
300 – 1,000 words
Short, fun recommendations: something you've been watching, reading, or listening to that you can't stop thinking about.
150 – 300 words
Short literary fiction with a strong sense of voice and world. Any subgenre welcome.
Up to 6,000 words
Any form. Submit up to 3 poems per submission in one document.
Up to 3 poems
We reserve the right to lightly edit accepted work for clarity and style. If you are unhappy with any changes made before publication, reach out and we will work it out together.
We take plagiarism seriously and will not publish work that is not your own. This includes work generated by or substantially assisted by AI.
